Mercedes Launches Its First EV Fast-charging Hub In U.S, Open To All Brands

Mercedes, in partnership with MN8 Energy, launches the first of its planned EV fast-charging hub in the United States.

The charging hub with 400kW fast chargers is powered by 100% clean energy and opened to drivers of all brands of EVs.

Mercedes aim to deliver 2,500 chargers within 400 charging hubs across North America by the end of the decade.

Globally, Mercedes aims to build more than 2,000 charging hubs with over 10,000 charging points by the end of the decade.

German automaker, Mercedes-Benz, in partnership with MN8 Energy, has launched the first of its planned network of fast-charging hubs across North America designed to exclusively offer chargers of up to 400kW that will enable EVs to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

Powered by 100% clean energy and opened to drivers of all brands of EVs, the inaugural charging hub with solar canopy is located at the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz USA in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Special features of the charging hub includes 400kW fast chargers, a Solar Canopy that provides weather cover for customers as well as a 15-feet tall pylon that indicates the status of the charging stall : In Use, Free or Reserved.

“With the official launch of the Mercedes-Benz Charging Network in North America, we aim to set a new standard for a quality charging experience for the entire industry,” said Andrew Cornelia, President & CEO of the Mercedes-MN8 Energy joint venture.

“Our driver-first network will deliver some of the fastest charging speeds and will be openly accessible to all EV drivers from day one.”

In addition to its first Charging Hub in Sandy Springs, Georgia, Mercedes-Benz said that several hubs will open at Buc-ee’s travel centers in Texas, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia by the end of 2023.

In a joint venture with MN8 Energy and an investment of over $1 billion, Mercedes aim to deliver 2,500 chargers within at least 400 charging hubs across North America by the end of the decade, and so has invested over $1 billion.

Globally, the Mercedes-Benz aims to build more than 2,000 charging hubs with over 10,000 charging points across US, Europe, China and several other markets by the end of the decade.
