Don’t exceed 80km per hour, renovated 3rd Mainland Bridge now equipped with speed cameras, FG warns.
Speed cameras installed to encourage responsible driving along the newly renovated Third Mainland Bridge.
The speed cameras, done in conjunction with FRSC, was installed to capture motorists who exceeds the limit of 80km/h.
Motorists caught exceeding the speed limit of 80 km/h would face penalties at the renewal of their vehicle license.

The newly renovated 11.8-kilometre Third Mainland Bridge (3MB) was officially opened to traffic on Thursday April 4th 2024 following the successful completion of repair works by the Federal Government.
The FG had on Jan. 9 begun comprehensive rehabilitation of failed portions on the bridge, including the installation of speed limit cameras to encourage responsible driving along the newly renovated Third Mainland Bridge.
While announcing the unofficial re-opening of the bridge on Thursday, the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mrs Olukorede Keisha, urged motorists to obey every traffic signs and keep to the approved speed limit.
She explained that the speed cameras, done in conjunction with the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), was installed to capture motorists who exceeds the limit of 80km/per hour.

Keisha further explained that motorists caught exceeding the speed limit of 80km per hour (80 km/h) would face penalties at the renewal of their vehicle license.
She said :
“Today we are fixing the speed limits. It is in conjunction with the Federal Road Safety Corps and they are on the bridge now doing that.
“The speed limit has been designed to be 80km per hour. So, if you speed past 80km in the next few weeks, your honourable Commissioner will have you to contend with.
“And at the renewal of your vehicle license, you will be surcharged. So it’s no longer going to be business as usual.’’
