Japanese Automakers Emphasize The Value Of Synthetic Fuel.
Is synthetic fuel the future of combustion engines? Many Japanese car manufacturers believe it is. They once again highlight the significance of combustion engines that utilize synthetic fuel.
The combustion engine can play a crucial role in greening the global car fleet. At least that is the belief of several Japanese car manufacturers. They believe in synthetic fuel as a way to make the combustion engine part of CO₂-neutral mobility. They are now emphasizing this once again in the run-up to Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
To be precise, we are talking about Toyota, Mazda, Suzuki, Subaru, and Daihatsu, five manufacturers that, not entirely coincidentally, are already collaborating in many areas and benefiting from each other’s technology. During the Expo, the five will demonstrate how synthetic fuels can be seamlessly integrated into everyday life by transporting guests in existing models that already have a mix of regular and synthetic fuel in their tanks.
The Japanese are somewhat more optimistic in this area than many other car manufacturers. After all, there are quite a few concerns about how feasible it is to use synthetic fuel on a large scale. The production costs are high, so major steps need to be taken in this area. Recently, European research showed that there are still many bumps in the road for synthetic fuels.
