The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Now Provides The Power For Which It Was First Advertised

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, a high-performance electric sedan produced by the Chinese tech giant, is now delivering the power it was originally designed to have after a software update.

After the car hit the market, some buyers discovered that software settings limited power to 900 hp, even though its electric motors could deliver much more. This disappointed buyers, as they had spent money on the best performance.

The SU7 Ultra has already made a great impression in the automotive world. The test version impressively outperformed the Tesla Model S Plaid, and the pre-production SU7 Ultra prototype completed a lap of the challenging Nürburgring in 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds. This result puts Xiaomi’s car with more than 1,500 hp ahead of supercars such as the Rimac Nevera, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Dodge Viper ACR and Porsche 918.

Given the impressive performance figures, the discovery that the commercially available SU7 Ultra was limited to almost 650 hp less by software caused disappointment among early owners. An outcry followed, and in response to the pressure, Xiaomi decided to remove the software that limited performance.

“We value feedback from our community and will be more transparent in the future,” the company said.

Xiaomi’s decision means that SU7 Ultra owners can now experience the full potential of their “wild” electric car.
