Nissan To Unveil The Z Nismo Manual Version At The 2026 Tokyo Motor Show
Fans of sports cars seeking a genuine driving experience can breathe a sigh of relief—Nissan has announced that it will showcase the Z Nismo with a manual transmission at the 2026 Tokyo Motor Show. This announcement marks a significant shift in the strategy of the Japanese manufacturer, which until now offered the most powerful version of its sports model solely with an automatic transmission.
Although the current Z Nismo boasts impressive specs—a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 420 hp and 521 Nm, along with reinforced brakes and a sport-tuned suspension—many enthusiasts missed the option to shift gears manually. The six-speed manual transmission aims to enhance the driving experience by re-establishing that direct connection between driver and vehicle, which has always been central to sporty driving.
Nissan has not yet revealed technical details about gear ratios or other modifications, but a standard version of the gearbox could significantly improve the driving experience of this car.
The good news for buyers outside of Japan is the confirmation that the Z Nismo with a manual transmission is coming worldwide, and it will certainly focus on the American market.
With this move, Nissan shows that it still values tradition and driver engagement, which is sure to attract the attention of true car enthusiasts for whom driving is more than just transportation.
