Hyundai Is Recalling Over 400,000 Vehicles In The US Due To Brake Failure
Hyundai is recalling more than 421,000 vehicles in the United States due to a software error related to the braking system, Reuters reported, citing the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
As stated, the recall applies to certain Santa Cruz, Tucson, Tucson hybrid and Tucson plug-in hybrid electric models produced in the period 2025-2026.
Regulators specified that an error in the front-view camera software could lead to premature activation of the frontal collision prevention system, which could cause the vehicle to brake unexpectedly and thereby increase the risk of a traffic accident. Hyundai has announced that dealers will update the front camera system software for free.
It is recalled that on April 10, Reuters also published an earlier large-scale recall of 294,128 vehicles of the same manufacturer in the USA due to a factory defect that could lead to the separation of the seatbelt brackets. That action covered multiple models, including the Ioniq 6, Genesis G90, and Santa Fe crossovers in classic and hybrid versions.
