Third Mainland Bridge: Crash Barrier Saves 22 Passengers from Plunging into The Lagoon

A major tragedy was averted today around 6.30am on the Third Mainland Bridge.
It happened when a Volkswagen LT bus containing 22 Passengers plying the bridge somersaulted.
The vehicle was only saved from plunging into the Lagoon by the crash barrier on the bridge.
Members of the Rapid Response Squad and LRU responded swiftly and had a hectic time attending to the 22 passengers of the bus who sustained varied degrees of injuries.
The First Aid knowledge of officers of the rapid Response Squad was helpful as they joined medical workers in administering aid on victims.
