Man-machine-cooperations has helped Mercedes to increase its efficiency by 25% compared to the previous S-Class assembly.
“Factory 56” production lines currently churns out of short and long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan.
Other high-end models produced there includes the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and the EQS, the all-electric S-Class.
YouTube Channel FRAME has given us another peek into how the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship sedans are produced at the 5G-enabled “Factory 56” in Sindelfingen, Germany.
Since “Factory 56” was opened on 2nd September 2020, man-machine-cooperations has helped Mercedes-Benz to increase its efficiency by 25 percent compared to the previous S-Class assembly.
While most of the jobs in the production assembly line are done by the robots, workers are still needed to install the front grille, bumpers, electric wiring, screens and the Mercedes-Benz emblem.
“Factory 56” production lines currently churns out of short and long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan as well as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and the EQS, the first all-electric member of the new S-Class family.
The assembly hall is 100 percent flexible, allowing all Mercedes-Benz model series to be integrated into ongoing production in the shortest possible time, depending on demand.
“Factory 56” have a CO₂-neutral energy supply as its roof features photovoltaic system. This power feeds green electricity into the productions supply, thereby reducing 5,000 MWh of electricity per yearly.
