Ford Supervan 4.2 driven by Romain Dumas completed the 1.16-mile Hill Climb in 43.9 seconds.

The 43.9 second run eclipsed last year’s fastest time of 45.345 seconds set by the McLaren Solus GT.

But it still trails the record-breaking time of 39.08 seconds set by McMurty Speirling during the 2022 Edition.

An all-electric Ford Supervan 4.2 piloted by French racing driver, Romain Dumas, was the quickest car at this year’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed after completing the 1.87-kilometre (1.16-mile) Hill Climb in 43.9 seconds during the Timed Shootout on Sunday.

Ford Supervan 4.2’s time managed to eclipse last year’s fastest time of 45.345 seconds set by the McLaren Solus GT but still trails the record-breaking time of 39.08 seconds set by McMurty Speirling during the 2022 Edition.

Romain Dumas’ time beats the 46.1 second time posted by the 670-hp Subaru WRX Project Midnight driven by former F1 driver Scott Speed and Porsche 911 GT3 CUP, which came third with 48.1 seconds.

“I don’t know if it was unbelievable but two corners from the end, I was quite close to the wall, so I was pushing quite hard I have to say,” said Dumas, who took his fifth outright Pikes Peak hillclimb victory aboard Ford’s F-150 Lightning SuperTruck electric demonstrator last month.

“I didn’t know how fast Scott had gone on his run, but I knew that everyone was very motivated, and we had good competition at this level. We all want to win.”

Developed in a partnership with Ford Performance and STARD, the SuperVan 4.2 is specifically designed for hill climbing.

It features large front and rear spoilers and rides on forged wheels with Pirelli P Zero race tyres. Its 3-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain has a total power output of 1,600-hp.
