FRSC Begins Crackdown On Fake Diplomatic Plates, Other Unauthorised Number Plates

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has directed the immediate clampdown of fake Diplomatic plates and other unauthorized number plates on vehicles plying Nigerian roads.





According to the statement signed by the Corps spokesperson, Olusegun Ogungbemide, on 19 November 2024 (today), the move is in line with his administration’s proactive approach towards enhancing national security.

The statement also revealed that these identified number plates are fraudulently produced by suspected criminals and neither produced by FRSC nor issued by the Motor Licensing Authorities of States.

No injuries reported on Wednesday November 20th 2024 after a Nigerian Police Bullion Van fell into the gutter at Obasekunmade inward Ogolonto along Ikorodu road in Lagos.

The crash was attributed to steering problem, according to the traffic report posted to the official Facebook page of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) around 6.40 pm.

LASTMA further revealed that efforts were ongoing to recover the vehicle while its officers are currently managing the situation effectively.

“A Police Bullion van fell into the gutter due to steering problem at Obasekunmade inward Ogolonto.”





“Contra flow is ongoing, which is slightly slowing down movement for motorists coming from Ogolonto.”

Apapa Customs Generates A Record N2 Trillion Revenue, Targets N2.2 Trillion By End Of Year

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Apapa Area Command says it has collected a record N2.014 trillion in revenue as of 19 November 2024, noting that it aims to achieve its N2.2 trillion target for 2024 by the end of the year.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, announced the achievement during a routine parade at the command headquarters in Apapa on Wednesday, 20 November 2024.

While commending officers for their dedication, Olomu noted that the command’s revenue contribution represents 40 per cent of the NCS’s total collection of N5.07 trillion.

Olomu attributed the success to the leadership of the CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi in revenue collection, trade facilitation, and enforcement.
