Audi Halts Production Of Various Models Due To Missing Parts Sourced From Ukraine
German automaker Audi halts production of various models until April due to missing parts sourced from Ukraine.
Audi models particularly affected by the war in Ukraine include the Q4 e-tron, A4, A5, A6, A7, TT, Q7, and Q8.
The A1, A3, Q2 e-tron, Q5, and A8 were impacted to a small extent by the war, according to Automobilwoche.
Audi warned that dealerships should be prepared for “significantly longer delivery times” of these models.
Audi has paused production of a host of models at its assembly plants due to missing parts, including wiring harnesses, that the German automaker source from war-torned Ukraine.
Production from some of Audi’s suppliers have collapsed completely since the war began last month while production at other sites has been severely restricted.
In an internal letter sent to dealerships, viewed by Automobilwoche, Audi revealed that “in some cases we have had to (and will) stop production at some locations for days or weeks”, due to the ongoing Russian war in the Ukraine.
Audi models particularly affected include the Q4 e-tron, A4, A5, A6, A7, TT, Q7, and Q8, while the A1, A3, Q2 e-tron, Q5, and A8 have only been impacted to a small extent by the war, according to Automobilwoche.
The Volkswagen warned that dealerships should be prepared for “significantly longer delivery times” of these models.
Audi is expected to resume production of the A4, A5, A6, and A7 in the first and second weeks of April, while production of the TT, Q8, and Q4 e-tron models is tipped to resume in mid-April.
Earlier today, French Automaker, Renault, which owns a 67.61 per cent majority stake in Lada Auto Holding, announced that it will halt its industrial activities at its Autoframos manufacturing plant, in Russia.
