BMW to teach drivers how to drive the bulletproof BMW 7 Series Protection, Electric i7 Protection models.
A VR9 protection rating means the Protection models will stop 7.62mm armor-piercing bullets and explosives.
Training courses ranges from theory sessions to practical vehicle control exercises and tactical response training.
All-new 2024 BMW 7-Series Protection and an electric i7 Protection models debuted last week ahead of their public debut at the IAA Mobility 2023 International Motor Show in Munich between 5th Sept and 10 Sept 2023.
The BMW Protection models features a self-supporting body structure made from armor steel and an armored glass. A VR9 protection rating means the models will stop 7.62mm armor-piercing bullets and withstand hand grenade attacks, thus protecting at-risk individuals.
And, while the BMW 7 Series Protection and i7 Protection models already comes with numerous driving aids and life-saving features, the German automaker still offers special driving training courses on how to guide the 3,900+ kg armored vehicles from enemy territory.
“BMW also offers special Protection driver training courses. These programmes, which BMW has been hosting for more than 35 years, are offered at various intensity levels depending on the prior knowledge of the participants involved and take place at several locations around the world.
“The training courses are led by highly qualified experts and their content ranges from comprehensive theory sessions to practical vehicle control exercises and tactical response training”.
The new BMW i7 Protection will be able to sprint to 62 mph from rest in 9.0 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 160 km/h (99 mph), while the petrol-engined version will do this in 6.6 seconds and goes on to reach a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).
