CAS ’17 Autocross FAQS

What is autocross?

Autocross is a timed competition that allows a drivers to navigate through a defined track, one at a time. Tracks are marked using traffic cones to see who can drive it the quickest without hitting any cones or going off course.

How are penalties Scored?

If your car causes a cone to fall, it’s a 3-second penalty.

Do I need a special car to autocross?

No you don’t.

Do winners get any prize/awards?

Yes, at the end of the event. Prizes/Awards will be presented.

What do I  need to participate?

Drivers license, a vehicle in good working order

How do I participate?

• Register: Registration costs N10,000
• Show up and get your car inspected. Before 13th August (Thursday 3rd August – Wednesday 9th August)
• Walk the course
• Carry out test laps.

Event day (Sunday 13th August 2017)

Show up at the venue

• Walk the course
• Drive

Why should I autocross

Asides being a fun activity, it’s an inexpensive way to get involved in motorsports. It will also help improve your driving skills.
