‘Checkpoint’ And ‘E-police’ Sites : Here Are 64 Lagos Traffic Offences And Their Penalties - autojosh

Lagos State Govt recently deployed ‘Checkpoint’ and ‘E-police’ sites to improve traffic management and road safety.

Newly deployed ITS to complement existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras, other Traffic Management Solution devices.

Offending motorists faces the existing fines and penalties stated in the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law (TSRL) 2018. 





The Lagos State Government recently announced the deployment of four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites across four locations in the State to improve traffic management and road safety.

The newly deployed ITS sites consist of Checkpoint Sites for speed monitoring and the E-police Sites equipped with high definition cameras to monitor violations such as running red lights, lane indiscipline, illegal U-turns and reverse driving.

In a statement, the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said that the ITS will complement the existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and other Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices.

Key benefits of ITS include:

“Improved Road Safety by reducing reckless driving”, “Efficient traffic flow through real-time monitoring”, “Data-Driven Decisions for better urban planning” and “Enhanced transparency by minimizing human interference in enforcement”

Offending motorists (private and commercial) captured by these newly deployed ITS faces the existing fines and penalties stated in the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law (TSRL) 2018.
