China’s $96,000 Great Wall Motor (GWM) Tank 700 wants to steal Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV customers.
The Tank 700 Hi4-T joins the Chinese brand’s Tank 300, Tank 400 and Tank 500 range of off-road SUVs.
It measures 5113mm long, 2061mm wide, 1952mm tall and rides on a 3000mm wheelbase.
The hybrid body-on-frame off-road SUV rides on a R22 wheels with 275/50 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres.
GWM plans to produce just 70 units in the first batch, with first deliveries scheduled for February next year.
Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) has officially unveiled a Tank 700 Hi4-T at the Guangzhou Auto Show, where it declared presale for its latest and range-topping body-on-frame off-road SUV.
The Tank 700 Hi4-T measures 5113mm long, 2061mm wide, 1952mm tall and rides on a 3000mm wheelbase. It joins the brand’s Tank 300, Tank 400 and Tank 500 range of off-road SUVs.

On the outside, the rugged SUV sports a huge headlights, a roof spoiler and a rear diffuser. It rides on a R22 wheels with 275/50 high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres.
The Tank 700 Hi4-T plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is powered by a 3-liter bi-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor, which produces a combined output of 517 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.
The massive Chinese-made high-rid SUV, which can rival the likes of boxy Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series in other markets, is available for 700,000 yuan ($96,000 USD).
GWM plans to produce just 70 units in the first batch exclusively for the Chinese market, with first deliveries scheduled for February next year. According to local news, customers who deposit will get five-lifetime warranties, including those on basic maintenance and road rescue services.
