China’s BYD showed off new Yangwang U9 supercar that can balance on 3 wheels, dance, and jump off the ground.

The U9 capabilities was made possible by the company’s new in-house developed active suspension, including the DISus-X.

BYD notes that even if one wheel was taken off, any vehicle equipped with DiSus-X will still able to dance, jump as well as drive.

Chinese automaker BYD this week announced a new e4 platform, featuring its new group of active chassis and suspension technologies designed to provide drivers with extraordinary experiences.

The company says that its new DiSus Intelligent Body Control System, a lineup that consists of DiSus-C, DiSus-P and the impressive DiSus-X, are designed for stabilizing car rides on all-terrains as well as in cases of tyre blow-out.

To show of the DiSus Intelligent Body Control System, BYD equipped the new technological system on its upcoming Yangwang U9, which allows the sports car to make different kinds of attention-grabbing stunts.

In a video shared on Twitter, BYD demonstrated its in-house developed active suspension on the U9, including the ability to hop all four wheels of the ground as well the ability to drive on three wheels.

BYD notes that even if one wheel was taken off, any vehicle equipped with DiSus-X will still able to showcase its ability to dance, jump off the ground as well as drive effortlessly.

The all-electric company is still mute on how much the new DiSus system would cost to use or when it would become widely available, but the new DiSus-X suspension system will arrive in the new all-electric BYD Yangwang U9 sports car.

First unveiled in January, the performance-focused U9 battery-powered supercar from BYD’s YangWang premium sub-brand features two sets of butterfly doors, which offers greater access into the cabin.

U9 is equipped with the “Yisifang” tech for its quad motor setup, allowing the 1,100 horsepower supercar to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2 seconds, making it almost as quick as the Rimac Nevera, which can make the sprint in 1.85 seconds.

When Yangwang U9 arrives in the Chinese market this year, it will be priced at over ¥1,000,000 ($145,340). Based on the price, it will rival GAC’s Aion Hyper Hyper SSR, which starts from ¥1,286,000 ($186,870).
