IGP Ibrahim Idris established a unit called PCRRU in November 2016, he said: “The Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit in the force is saddled with the responsibility of receiving and resolving all complaints of police professional misconduct emanating from policing activities and operations nationwide.
The PCRRU (Police Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit) is now available 24/7 to receive complaints and reports of police officers.
This service was provided due to the numerous complaint of the Nigerian Police Federation.
