LASTMA’s New ‘Ticket Alert’ Notifies Motorists Of Their Unsettled Fines Which Must Be Paid Within 30-days
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced the introduction of a new ‘Ticket Alert’ system, which notifies offending drivers of their unsettled fines which must be paid within 30-days.
LASTMA’s new ‘Ticket Alert’ serves as a reminder for motorists to settle any of their outstanding fines accrued through traffic offences such as driving with expired vehicle license, roadworthiness or insurance, among other offences.
According to a statement by LASTMA, motorists risk vehicle impoundment if they fail to settle any of their outstanding fines after the expiration of the 30 days ultimatum.
President Tinubu Will Commission 37-km Lagos Red Line Rail On Thursday 29th February 2024
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday announced that the 37-kilometre Red Line rail will be commissioned on Thursday, February 29 by Nigerian President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Sanwo-Olu made this known at the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) Stakeholders Forum themed : “Parking in Lagos, the journey so far – Assessing the social and economic impact of the industry” held at GRA, Ikeja.
At the event, Sanwo-Olu said the Red Line rail from Agbado to Oyingbo area of Lagos is one of the integrated mass transit corridors in the state in line with his administration’s THEMES+ Developmental Agenda.
Tracks Are For Trains : LASG Dislodges Traders Selling Wares On Rail Lines To Avert Accident
The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water through the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) has commenced the immediate enforcement and clearing of the rail tracks to avert accident.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
According to Wahab, the move is in response to the trending video of a fast-moving train driving very close to traders selling wares on the rail lines. He stressed that the enforcement efforts by the State Government would be consistent.
Customs Makes ₦556m Through E-auction Of 462 Vehicles, Dispels Rumours Of Allotting 300 Vehicles To A Single Individual
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said that the Federal Government has realized about ₦556.7 million as revenue from its ongoing e-auctioning of overtime/impounded vehicles.
A statement signed by Custom’s PRO, Abdullahi Maiwada, shows that 13,605 applicants registered on the agency’s e-auction portal during five successful bidding windows, where 476 vehicles were uploaded, and 462 vehicles won.
The agency also dispelled rumours of allotting 300 vehicles to a single individual through the e-auction window after purported underhand payments of N10,000 per vehicle, noting that each car has a reserved price of N400,000.
