Mercedes-AMG GT XX Shatters 25 Long-distance Records, Including “Around The World Drive In 7 Days 13 Hours”

AMG GT XX shatters 25 long-distance records , including “around the world drive in 8 days” achieved in 7 days, 13 hours.

The first is a 5,479-km drive in 24 hours on the high-speed test track in Nardò – obliterating the previous record by over 1,500-km.

AMG GT XX achieved around the world drive in 7 days, 13 hrs, 24 mins and 07 secs, covering a distance of 40,075-km (24,901 miles).

The Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept has shattered record after record, demonstrating the superior performance of the upcoming high-performance architecture AMG.EA that is set to debut in a four-door series-production sports car from Mercedes‑AMG in 2026.

Among a total of 25 long-distance records set by the AMG GT XX is a 5,479 kilometers (3,404 miles) drive in 24 hours on the legendary high-speed test track in Nardò, Italy – obliterating the previous 24-hour record by over 1,500 kilometers.

But Mercedes-AMG said the goal was to drive AMG GT XX “around the world in eight days” to prove the superior long-distance performance of the AMG electric drive train, which features three axial flux motors and delivers more than 1,340-horsepower.

With a constant speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) and a stop to recharge, the AMG GT XX achieved this mission in exactly 7 days, 13 hours, 24 minutes and 07 seconds, covering a distance of 40,075 kilometres (24,901 miles) and averaging over 5,300 kilometers (3,293 miles) per day.

“An AMG has always been defined by its drivetrain. In the electric world, too, our drive system must be convincing across the board… We have now impressively demonstrated how superior these technologies are,” said Michael Schiebe, the CEO of Mercedes‑AMG and head of the business units at Mercedes‑Benz G‑Class & Mercedes‑Maybach.

According to Mercedes-AMG, two CONCEPT AMG GT XX took part in the record-breaking drive that were driven by 17 professional drivers, including George Russell, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Driver.

“As an F1 driver, I’m used to pushing technology to its absolute limits – the CONCEPT AMG GT XX really impressed me… This technology (architecture AMG.EA) will revolutionise the driving experience – both on the racetrack and on the road,” said George Russell.
