Dangote Refinery takes delivery of 4,000 CNG trucks ahead of nationwide distribution of petrol and diesel.

Starting on Aug 15th, Dangote Refinery will commence the distribution of petrol and diesel to marketers across the country.

Procurement of the CNG tankers will ensure the smooth take-off of this distribution initiative, according to the company.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the arrival of 4,000 brand new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks, ahead of commencement of nationwide distribution of diesel and petrol, starting 15th of August 2025.

“We are delighted to receive 4,000 brand-new CNG trucks as part of our bold distribution initiative, championing cleaner energy and more efficient transportation across Nigeria and beyond,” the company wrote in a video posted to its social media platforms showing the offloading of the CNG trucks from a ship.

The Lagos-based Africa’s biggest oil refinery had earlier announced plans to commence the distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Diesel to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecoms firms and aviation across the country.

The procurement of the 4,000 brand new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers will ensure the smooth take-off of this distribution initiative, according to an earlier release by the company.

Under this initiative, all petrol stations purchasing PMS and diesel from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery will benefit from this enhanced logistics support.

“This phase of the programme will continue over an extended timeframe. The refinery is also investing in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations, commonly referred to as daughter booster stations, supported by a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers across the country to ensure seamless product distribution.
