Bugatti’s latest model, the open-top Mistral W16 roadster, was blessed by a light shower during its European debut at the Chantilly Concours d’Elegance, held over the weekend of 23rd to 25th September, 2022.

Footage shared by aspotting37 on Instagram shows Bugatti’s driver using one hand to drive and the other to hold an umbrella as he scrambles to take the seven-figure, uber-rare roofless hypercar to a shade.

Despite the showers, the supremely powerful Bugatti Mistral still stole the show at the event’s Sunday Chantilly Concours d’Elegance, which attracted some 16,000 visitors.

The two day event gave visitors an exceptionally rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of the W16 Mistral, named after a one-of-a-kind wind that heralds the new seasons in southern France.

Bugatti’s latest roadgoing car brings the W16 era to an end as the ultimate roadster will be the last to use the mighty 8.0-liter W16 engine first seen in 2005 in the Bugatti Veyron.

The Bugatti W16 Mistral was one of nine vehicles that competed in the Chantilly Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, with each car representing the pinnacle of contemporary automotive design and technology.
