Fearing Jail Term, EFCC Boss Returns Ex-Airforce Chief’s Seized Range Rover
The EFCC says its Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa has returned a Range Rover that the anti-graft agency confiscated from former Air Vice Marshal, Rufus Ojuawo, and approved the refund of his seized N40 million.
The release of the seized SUV and N40 million follows the sentencing of Mr Bawa to prison for contempt for failing to comply with an earlier court order.
The agency, in a statement, noted that Bawa didn’t disregard the order of the FCT High Court given on November 21, 2018, which was three years before he became EFCC Chairman on March 5, 2022.
FRSC Uses E-ticketing Device, Not PoS Machines At Patrol Points – Spokesman
FRSC has debunked the claim by a section of the motoring public that it uses Point of Sale (PoS) machines to receive payment for fines on traffic offenses at patrol points.
In a statement on Wednesday, FRSC said the Corps doesn’t use or permit the use of POS machines to receive payment for fines of traffic offences on patrol points.
Instead, FRSC said its patrol operatives uses Electronic Booking Device (E-Tablet) for issuing traffic offence tickets, adding that the device has been wrongly termed as a PoS machine by a section of the motoring public.
Nord Automobiles-UNILAG auto plant inaugurated
An ultra-modern Automotive Complex built by Lagos-based automaker, Nord Automobiles in partnership with UNILAG was inaugurated on Thursday November 10th 2022.
The new Automotive Complex inside UNILAG main campus houses a research and development center, automobile assembly plant, showroom and after-sales workshop.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony on Thursday, the outgoing Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, disclosed that the facility will not only make Nigerian-built cars but also make drones for commercial purposes.
LAMATA Suspends BRT Enforcement Exercise On EKO Bridge
LAMATA on Friday announced the suspension of operation of its dedicated Security Team, known as the BRT Monitoring Enforcement Team, on the Eko Bridge.
The suspension follows the partial closure of the Eko Bridge due to the ongoing rehabilitation work to repair a section damaged by a fire incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, 4th November, 2022.
A statement issued by LAMATA said the suspension of the operation of the dedicated Security Team was to enhance vehicular movement on the Bridge during the ongoing construction period.
