Extreme Hot Weather Left Many Wrapped Cars Looking Pregnant In China
A footage shared shows several cars appear to develop ‘baby bumps’ during extreme hot weather in China.
In the video, which has gone viral, the bonnet and side areas of the vehicles were seen swollen.
Bizarre phenomenon is caused by bubbles under the aftermarket protective wraps on the car.
In hot weather, the bubbles under the aftermarket protective wraps expands, making the card look pregnant.

China is currently experiencing extreme heatwave and the hot whether has left many cars with alarming ‘baby bumps’ as seen in a viral video shared on the social media platform X.
In the video, the bonnet and side areas of the vehicles were seen swollen. “No joke! Made-in-China cars get pregnant when it’s too hot,” wrote China-born Jennifer Zeng, a US-based reporter who ‘has a track record of spreading rumors and misattributed videos’.


Reacting to the video of the ballooning cars in China, netizens schooled her that the blow-up parts are mostly aftermarket protective wraps and have nothing to do with China-made cars.
According to the users, the bizarre phenomenon is caused by bubbles under the aftermarket protective wraps on the car, which expands in hot whether and made them appear pregnant.

“Bad paint protection film wrapping. Bubbles in the wrap expand when it gets too hot,” commented a user.
“The joke is on you that you don’t even realise these are aftermarket wraps,” wrote another user who reacted to the post.
A third user said :
“Cheap adhesive on the back off-gassing? Imagine what toxic crap comes off the Chinese stuff you buy when it sees sunlight”.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t want to pop it at; you just don’t know if it has chemical gases inside it or not”.
