Ferrari’s new V12 flagship, 12Cilindri, wins “The Car Design Award 2025” in the Production Cars category.

According to the jury, the Ferrari 12Cilindri is “an indissoluble link with tradition that looks to the future”

The 12Cilindri is the 5th Ferrari to win the prestigious award in the Production Cars category since 1984.

First Ferrari to win the award was Testarossa (1985), followed by Roma (2020), the 296 GTB (2022), and the Purosangue (2023).

Ferrari’s new  12-cylinder flagship supercar, the 12Cilindri, has been awarded the prestigious Car Design Award during an award ceremony held at the ADI Design Museum in Milan during the Milan Design Week.

Established in 1984, the Car Design Award is aimed at projects that have significantly contributed to the evolution of automotive design and the winners of the Car Design Award have always been selected by a jury of experts.

The 12Cilindri (Italian for “12 cylinders” and pronounced dodi-chi chilin-dri) is the 5th Ferrari sports car to win the prestigious award in the Production Cars category since 1984.

The first Ferrari to win the prestigious award was the Testarossa in 1985, followed by the Roma in 2020, the 296 GTB in 2022, and the brand’s first-ever Crossover SUV, the Purosangue in 2023.

Explaining why the 12Cilindri was chosen, the ADI jurors said that :

“The design of the 12Cilindri encapsulates the historical essence of the Ferrari V12s of the Fifties and Sixties, revisited and taking into account the aerodynamic requirements that today are a science and no longer just an intuition.”

“An indissoluble link with tradition that looks to the future and has led this project to unite two souls, sportiness and elegance, to create an out-of-the-box icon.”

The 12Cilindri, a successor to the 812 Superfast, is inspired by the Ferrari Gran Turismo cars of the 1950s and ‘60s. Maranello’s new two-seater berlinetta is available in both closed-roof (Coupe) and convertible (Spider) versions.
