From Phantom Goldfinger To Spectre Lunaflair, Here Are The Bespoke Rolls-Royce Commissions From 2024
From Phantom Goldfinger to Spectre Lunaflair, here are the bespoke Rolls-Royce commissions from 2024.
In 2024, British luxury marque, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, explored, developed and presented new and ambitious interpretations of true luxury to its clients around the world.
These finest examples of Bespoke craftsmanship, design and engineering were built by its Bespoke Collective – an elite team of engineers, designers and craftspeople based at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England.
“Every Rolls-Royce motor car serves as a blank canvas for an owner’s Bespoke commission. This year, we have once again been delighted and challenged by the breadth of our clients’ imagination, creativity and ambition, which presented the perfect opportunity to showcase the ingenuity and vision of our Bespoke Collective.
“As these commission highlights demonstrate, inspiration can come from anywhere, and increasingly we see clients requesting even more personal touches in their motor car, creating expressive works in their own right and as part of a broader legacy, ” said Chris Brownridge, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO.
Below are the finest examples of Bespoke craftsmanship, design and engineering, completed by the Luxury House during 2024.
1. Phantom Scintilla
As part of activities to celebrate its 120th anniversary, Rolls-Royce Motors has unveiled the Phantom Scintilla Private Collection – a limited-edition model inspired by the grace, dynamism and ethereal beauty of the Spirit of Ecstasy.
Based on Phantom Extended, the Phantom Scintilla Private Collection is limited to just ten (10) examples worldwide – all of which have been allocated to clients through Rolls-Royce Private Office network.
2. Black Badge Ghost City Lights
In this commission, created exclusively for the UK, the Illuminated Fascia features a Bespoke design recreating a bird’s-eye panorama of London.
The graphic is inspired by the thrilling view of the city seen from an aeroplane as it makes its final approach to landing at night. The pattern is composed of 8,372 laser-etched lights, each individually placed by hand in the Piano Black veneer surface.
3. Cullinan Series II – Inspired By Rose
This highly artistic commission was inspired by the Phantom Rose, specially bred blousy, creamy-white flower, which grows in the courtyard of the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood and nowhere else in the world.
Bespoke designers created a stylised rose motif, which was then translated into the delicate embroidery on the front and rear headrests and incorporated into the meticulously hand-painted Coachline.
4. Phantom Goldfinger
In October, Rolls-Royce unveiled a one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended ‘Goldfinger’ — a bespoke masterpiece that pays homage to the 1964 James Bond film, Goldfinger.
Revealed in the film’s 60th anniversary year, the Phantom Extended ‘Goldfinger’ takes inspiration from the 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Sedanca de Ville, used by the film’s villain, Auric Goldfinger, to smuggle gold across Europe.
5. Spectre Lunaflair
Based on the Rolls-Royce Spectre Electric Coupe, the one-of-one Spectre Lunaflair was commissioned by an unnamed client from the United States.
Based on the Spectre Electric Coupe, one-off masterpiece takes its inspiration and name from the optical phenomenon of a lunar halo, which appears as a colourful circle of light around the moon.
6. Ghost Extended Series II – The Encounter
This exquisite Ghost Extended Series II is designed to mark the 120th anniversary of the meeting of Rolls-Royce founders, The Hon. Charles Stewart Rolls and Henry Royce, on 4 May 1904.
The celebratory commission features their initials embroidered on the headrests, their signatures on the C-pillar, and the historic date of their introduction as the coachline motif.
7. Phantom Year Of The Dragon
In February, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, unveiled four (4) ‘Year of the Dragon’ Bespoke commissions to celebrate Chinese culture, ahead of the start of the Lunar New Year on February 10th 2024.
Billed as a “magnificent international celebration of Chinese cultural heritage”, the lineup consists of three Phantom Extended Wheelbase (EWB) sedans and one Cullinan SUV.
