Fuel Price Hike : Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu reduces fares of BRT, Boat and LAGRIDE By 50 Percent.
Says that the 50 per cent slash in transportation costs by the will take effect from Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Added that there are moves to slash the fairs of yellow buses, popularly known as as Danfo, by 25 per cent.

In a bid to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal on Lagosians, the Lagos State Government has slashed the costs of transportation of all state-owned transport systems by 50 per cent.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said that the 50 per cent slash in transportation costs by the government will take effect from Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
“In response to the effects of the fuel subsidy removal, I’m introducing a series of measures for economic and humanitarian relief.”
“From Wednesday, we’re implementing a 50% fare reduction on all Lagos Buses, easing the burden on commuters across the city.”
“Additionally, I’m pleased to announce a 50% fare reduction on all LagFerry routes. This will provide more accessible and affordable transportation options for our residents.”
Speaking further, Sanwo-Olu said there are moves to slash the fairs of yellow buses, popularly known as as Danfo, by 25 per cent.
“In collaboration with the bus unions, 25% off all yellow buses (danfo) fares will be communicated officially by the unions.”
