German Based Tuner Delta4x4 Transforms The Cullinan Into An Overland Vehicle
German tuner Delta4x4 has turned the Rolls-Royce Cullinan into a posh overlanding rig. The modified luxury SUV was commissioned by a customer living on the Arabian Peninsula. If you haven’t heard of Delta4x4, the company has done some exciting projects, including an off-road Porsche 911 and a Suzuki Jimny with portal axles.
The lifting package includes a 3.1-inch suspension lift with 20-inch Beadlock wheels and 33-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Boss X off-road tires, boosting 5.9 inches of ground clearance for 12.7 inches. That’s almost two inches more than a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, though Delta doesn’t say how much it improves the Rolls’ approach, break over, or departure angles.
In addition, a roof rack that has four more auxiliary lamps and carries useful equipment like recovery boards, a shovel, and fuel cans is equipped. There’s also a tent up there, so you can enjoy a night sleeping on your Cullinan.
While not easily visible in the photos, there are an array of skid plates for protecting the vital mechanical components.
No apparent powertrain modifications were made. Behind the traditional Rolls-Royce Pantheon grille sits a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V-12 making 563 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The automaker quotes a governed 155-mph top speed for the stock version, but the modified version’s Overlanding gear might blunt that performance somewhat.
Delta4X4 says the complete conversion for a Cullinan costs around €150,000 ($163,222 at current exchange rates). That’s in addition to having the Rolls-Royce donor vehicle, which is going to cost you over $300,000 to start if you’re purchasing a new one.
