How Do I Register A New Car In Nigeria?

  • Allocation of Registration Number of New Vehicle Form
  • Auto vehicle License Form
  • Form B
  • Federal Road Safety Form
  • Tax Form
  1. The completed forms and any accompanying documentation are then delivered to the licensing office’s designated police officer for verification, which is accomplished through the use of a verification stamp and the date mentioned on the form.

  1. Following the verification process, the next step is to pay for a license plate at a bank. The sum required is N50,000. It is, however, depends on the style of plate you desire.

 





  1. You will be needed to present your receipt after payment, and you will be given a plate number if one is available. A Proof of Ownership Certificate Number, a Proof of Ownership Certificate, and a Vehicle Identification Tag will be delivered to you (VIT).

 

  1. You will receive all of the original documents you provided back.

 

  1. The next step is to purchase car insurance coverage for the car.
