INEOS Reveals G-Class-inspired Fusilier, An All-electric 4X4 With Gas-powered Range-extender Option - autojosh

INEOS Automotive introduces G-Class-inspired Fusilier SUV, an all-electric 4X4 with gas-powered range-extender option.

Fusilier developed in conjunction with Magna Steyr, which builds cars like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the BMW Z4.

Range-extender consists of a small petrol engine that powers a generator to maintain the charge level of the battery.

Fusilier set sold in the Nigerian Automotive market, following the partnership between Coscharis Motors and Ineos in 2023.

British marque, INEOS Automotive, has unveiled an all-electric SUV called the Fusilier, its third model line after the Grenadier SUV and closely related Quartermaster pickup truck. INEOS developed the Fusilier in conjunction with industry-leading automotive supplier, Magna Steyr, which builds cars like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the BMW Z4.

Fusilier is based on the off-road-ready Ineos Grenadier SUV, though the new all-electric SUV is slightly shorter in length and slightly lower in height.

The company said that the new 4X4 will be offered in two powertrain options : An all-electric and a gas-powered range-extender option, to meet global consumer needs.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS says :

“The Fusilier is a great looking vehicle, and the two powertrain options provide a real-world reduction in carbon emissions without compromise to the off-road capability or the on-road performance.

“We’re excited to bring our electric 4X4 to market but we are beginning to understand the clear limitations of battery electric in certain situations.

“We believe the addition of a range extender electric to our line-up will offer our customers a very low emission drive without the range anxiety drivers of electric vehicles experience today.”

In addition to a purely electric variant, Ineos will offer the Fusilier with a gas-powered range-extender option that consists of a small petrol engine that powers a generator to maintain the charge level of the battery when external charging isn’t available.

INEOS hasn’t announced pricing yet, but the all-new all-electric Fusilier will likely be sold in the Nigerian Automotive market, following the partnership between Coscharis Motors and Ineos Automotive Limited in 2023.
