The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon is no doubt one of the toughest SUVs on the planet. Its ruggedness makes it a favourite among Nigerian celebrities.
The G63 version from Mercedes’ high-performance subsidiary ‘AMG’ also adds more luxuries and performance to this tested off-roading qualities.
But, if you think the boxy full-sized SUV can’t take you through a war zone, then you need to see this latest creation from Canadian armoring firm, Inkas.
Inkas, which has previously added armour to the current-generation Mercedes G-550 and G63, now has similar upgrades that offers more leg room.
Its latest creation is a stretch limo version of the G63 specially design for Heads of States and Dictators who want more rear leg rooms while cruising in war zones.
The Inkas bulletproof Mercedes-AMG G63 limousine features bullet-resistant glass that give it 360-degree perimeter protection, as well as protection for the battery and electronic control unit.
Its BR6 armor protection level allows it to stop some 7.62 and 0.308 assault-rifle rounds. According to Inkas, the floor can also withstand the blast of two hand grenades detonated simultaneously.
The armored SUV also has a built-in chemical filtration system to ward off biological or chemical attacks. It rides on run-flat tyres that allow high-speed driving when punctured by bullets.
Inside, the limo boasts a 4K television that also serves as a partition between the front and rear compartments. Other features includes 4K Apple TV integration, and reclining rear captain’s chairs with heating, cooling, and massage functions.
Options like emergency lights, a fire-suppression system, heavy-duty brakes and wheels, and a siren/PA system, can also be added.
Powering the stretched armored G63 is the stock twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 making 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.
This engine will get the base G63 from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. But the extra weight of the stretched and armored version will definitely allow this bunker on wheels to do this over 5 seconds.
The Inkas bulletproof Mercedes stretched G63 is available by special order. This limousine is priced at one million Euros ($1,180,925 or ₦455 million); excluding tax and destination charges.
