Inside Saudia Airlines’ Onboard Prayer Room, Where Muslims Can Pray During Long-haul Flights

Saudia feature an onboard prayer area in selected aircrafts, allowing muslim travellers to pray during long-haul flights.
The airline replaced about 6 to 9 seats space on their aeroplane to create this mini mosque and it is large enough for 10 muslim travelers.
Dedicated prayer areas available on Saudia Airlines’ Airbus A330s, Boeing 777s, and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts.
It has screen to help find the right praying direction (Qibla) and wall railings that can be held during sudden turbulence.
Onboard dedicated prayer areas also has praying mats and also curtains to provide privacy.
Saudia Airlines (also known as Saudia), the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has an onboard dedicated prayer areas in some of its aircrafts for muslims to pray during long-haul flights.
Available on its Airbus A330s, Boeing 777s, and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, these dedicated prayer areas were designed to allow muslim travelers to perform some of their five compulsory daily prayers even while flying.
Saudi Arabia’s flagship airline replaced about 6 to 9 seats space on their aeroplane to create this mini mosque and it is large enough for 10 muslim travelers to offer their daily prayers while flying long distance flights around the world.
Located at the very back of the plane, this mini prayer room has a screen that assists in finding the right praying direction (Qibla). It also has wall railings that can be held during sudden turbulence, praying mats and also curtains to provide privacy.
“Additionally, Saudia continues its tradition of featuring an onboard prayer area in selected aircraft, allowing guests to continue their worship during the journey.”
“Furthermore, guests will be able to enjoy Islamic programs as part of the In-flight Entertainment System, enriching their spiritual journey,” Saudis said in March 2024, while announcing exclusive Ramadan services for guests.
