The Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) 787 is the private jet version of the American brand’s bestselling 787 Dreamliner.

BBJ is a variant of the Boeing jet airliners with modifications to serve the private, head of state, and corporate jet market.

Unlike jet airliner, BBJ are delivered unpainted and without an interior to customers, who install the jet’s VIP interior.

Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) is a high-performance derivatives of the commercial Boeing jet airliners with modifications to serve the private, head of state, and corporate jet market.

Unlike Boeing jet airliner, Boeing Business Jets deliver the planes to customers unpainted and without an interior, who chose completion centre to install the jet’s VIP interior, according to Boeing.

While commercial Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft can usually carry between 240 and 335 passengers, this special model can be fitted with private master bedroom, guest cabin, lounge and dining area – depending on the customer’s taste.





Since production began in 1999, Boeing Business Jets has produced more than +250 BBJs (as of December 31, 2021) across 737 and the 737 MAX family – as well as 747-8, 767, 777 and 787.

Most BBJs are operated by governments for VIP transport in U.S., Australia and Africa, plus Colombia, Turkey, India, UAE, Jordan, South Africa and Tunisia.

Also, oil barons in the Middle East countries like Abu Dhabi, Dubai as well Saudi Arabia royalty also use the BBJs for VIP transport.

“The BBJ 787 joins the BBJ family, a full line of the most capable airplanes in the VIP market,” said Capt. Steve Taylor, the-then president of Boeing Business Jets, when the first BBJ 787 was delivered.

“The 787’s combination of phenomenal range, high cruise speed, low cabin altitude, big windows and ultra-quiet cabin make the 787 ideal for BBJ customers.”
