Chinese-made “Nammi 01” : Here Are Some Features To Expect From Innoson First Electric Car - autojosh

Chinese-made “Nammi 01” : Autojosh highlights some of the features of Innoson’s first electric car, including range.

The unnamed IVM-badged Electric Vehicle appears to be a direct design of the Chinese-made Nammi 01.

Earlier this week, Cornel Osigwe, the Head, Corporate Communications and Affairs at Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing showed off the automaker’s first all-electric vehicle ahead of official launch by the indigenous company.

In the video posted by Cornel on his official Facebook page, the company’s PRO was seen test-driving the 5-door, all-electric  hatchback at the company’s car park.

While Cornel is still mute on the specifications of the unnamed Innoson EV – except that the first batch is sold out – the IVM-badged EV appears to be a direct design of the Chinese-made Nammi 01.

First unveiled at Auto Guangzhou on November 17th 2023, the Nammi 01 began rolling off the production line on January 6th 2024 as the first model under Dongfeng Nammi, the new electric vehicle (EV) brand of Chinese auto giant Dongfeng Motor.

Based on Dongfeng’s Quantum Architecture 3 platform, the Nammi 01 measures 4,030 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,660 mm.

It has 31.45 kWh and 42.3 kWh battery-pack options with a range of 330 km (210 mi) and 430 km (270 mi) respectively. A DC fast charger replenishes the battery from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes or give up to 200 km in 8 minutes.

Power comes from a front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor with 70 kW (94 hp) and 160 N⋅m (120 lb⋅ft) of torque, which allows a top speed of 140 km/h.

Inside, the Nammi 01 boasts a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a 5-inch LCD instrument panel and a 12.8-inch floating central control screen, which supports mobile remote control and OTA updates.

While we wait for the official launch of the IVM EV to know the price of the battery-powered vehicle in Naira, the Nammi 01, targeted at the compact car market, has a price range of 74,800 to 104,800 RMB.
