According to the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, the federal government is working on 21 road projects in Kano State, in addition to housing projects that have reached the third phase of completion.

According to a statement released by the works ministry in Abuja on Thursday, Fashola revealed this during a courtesy visit to Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in Kano.

“At the moment, we are conducting 21 road projects at the Federal Government level in and around Kano State totaling roughly 960 kilometers,” he was quoted as saying. The Kano-Abuja highway, Kano-Katsina, Kano-Maiduguri, and a slew of others are among the most well-known.”

The minister went on to say that the Federal Government had finished phases one and two of the National Housing Programme in Kano and was now moving on to phase three.

He stated the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ), had given his assent for the houses to be handed over to members of the public, and that the exercise would be carried out on Buhari’s behalf by ministers from various states.

Fashola urged members of the state cabinet to encourage Kano citizens and indigenes to apply for housing units through a portal that had been set up for potential home buyers.

He stated that the Federal Government expected Kano residents to be the most avid subscribers to the state’s households.

Ganduje praised the Federal Government’s enormous infrastructural development in Kano State, particularly in the road, housing, railway, and aviation sectors.

The railway network connecting Lagos-Ibadan-Kaduna-Kano, as well as the ones between Kano Jibia and Maradi, are among the infrastructure projects planned by him.

According to the governor, the Kano-Dutse rail project and the Kazaure substation are among the others.

He added that the railway projects were in addition to the state’s roads and construction on the international wing of the Aminu Kano International Airport.
