Fake LASTMA Driver Arrested While Trying To Steal A Car With A Towing Van
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has debunked a viral video alleging that its driver was caught while trying to use the agency’s towing van to steal a vehicle in the early hours of Monday at Somolu area of Lagos.
A statement released by LASTMA disclosed that the said driver of the towing vehicle was not an official of the agency.
“It is important to inform the general public particularly motoring public that the driver (Adejumo Fatai) has been apprehended and currently at Pedro Police Station for further investigation.
“Investigations revealed that the arrested towing van driver (Adejumo Fatai) impersonated as one of the LASTMA Towing Van Operators with FAKE identity card and FAKE LASTMA Tow Franchisee’s Sticker.”
Adamawa State Govt Takes Delivery Of 10 Innoson CNG-powered Buses Worth Over N1 Billion
The Chairman of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing, Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma, on Tuesday August 29th 2023, presented ten (10) Innoson CNG-powered buses bought by the Adamawa State Government to Gov Ahmadu Fintiri.
Speaking at the presentation, Chukwuma stated that the Adamawa State Government under the leadership of Gov Fintiri remains the highest patronizer of Innoson Vehicles in the Northern Region.
The Innoson boss, who was ably represented by the General Sales Manager Obum Osigwe, also revealed that the indigenous Auto brand has concluded plans to set up a showroom and a service centre in Adamawa to serve North Eastern Nigeria.
Lagos Blue Line Rail To Commence Full Passenger Operations On Monday 4th Sept 2023
The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced that full passenger operations on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line Rail would commence on Monday, 4th September 2023.
A statement by LAMATA revealed that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, would be the first passenger when operations commence.
The first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line, which stretches 13-kilometres from Marina to Mile 2, is expected to transport 250,000 passengers daily. This numbers is expected to rise to 500,000 passengers daily when the entire 27km track from Marina to Okokomaiko is completed.
VIN Valuation On Tokunbo Vehicles Still Operational, Nigeria Customs Clarifies
The Nigeria Customs Service, PTML Area Command, on Thursday, 30 August 2023, held a sensitization workshop with stakeholders on the VIN valuation process for revenue collection on imported used vehicles into Nigeria.
Speaking at the stakeholders’ sensitization meeting held at the Command Headquarters in Lagos, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Saidu Yusuf, stated that the VIN Valuation process is still fully operational, adding that it is in line with the trade facilitation agreement, which Nigeria is a signatory to.
He said :
“We are here responding to the circular we received and the rumours that VIN-Valuation has been scrapped. I want to assure you that there’s nothing like that; the circular that came out was just like a reminder to examination and valuation officers on ways they should perform their duties they should continue to perform their duties effectively. It’s still fully operational, and we are up to it, and we are ensuring that the system works perfectly”.
