Lagos Police Recovers Stolen SUV, Urges Motorists To Always Report Car Theft

Police in Lagos recovers stolen Toyota SUV abandoned by fleeing robbers, urges Lagosians to always report criminal cases.
The unoccupied vehicle was found by the roadside, with both front doors opened, and the key still in the ignition.
Following inquiries, the police discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen by the owner.
Police contacted the owner to come get her car, while investigation is on to arrest the fleeing robbers.
Motorists have been urged to always report criminal cases to the Police, especially car theft, following the recovery of a stolen Toyota Highlander SUV by the police officers of Ijora Badia Division.
A statement by the spokesperson for the Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the unoccupied vehicle was found by the roadside, with both front doors opened, and the key still in the ignition.
“At about 2am today, eagle-eyed police officers of Ijora Badia Division spotted an SUV by the roadside with both front doors open; and the key still in the ignition. Vehicle was taken to the station. Documents, still intact in the vehicle, showed owner lives around Sango.”
Following inquiries, the police discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen by the owner. The police said that the owner was contacted to come and get her car, adding that investigation is on to arrest the fleeing robbers.
