LAMATA test run the Lagos Blue Line Rail to assess its operational readiness and fix possible problems.
The Blue Line, which traverses between Mile 2 and Marina, will be operated on Electric Motor Unit (EMU).
Sanwo-Olu, during an inspection of the project months back, said passenger movement would start within the first quarter of 2023.
The Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) on Friday completed the first test run along the Lagos Blue Line Rail to assess its operational readiness and fix possible problems.
The test run, which was caught in a video shared by DeeOneAyekooto on Twitter, saw LAMATA deploy an high-speed Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) that will serve the Lagos Blue Line Rail Mass Transit project.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during an inspection of the project months back, said the Lagos Blue Line Rail would be test run immediately after completion, while passenger movement would start within the first quarter of 2023.
The Lagos State Government had promised to deliver two rail mass transit projects, the Blue Line and the Red Line, within the first term of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.
While the 27-km Blue Line will traverse between Mile 2 and Marina and will be operated on Electric Motor Unit (EMU), the 37-kilometre Red Line, from Agbado to Ebute Metta, will operate on Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
