Lagos Transport Family : LASDRI, MVAA, LASWA, VIO, LASTMA, LAGFERRY and LASPA takes part in debut Red Line passenger test run.

During the trial tun, the trains will run four trips per day between Oyingbo in Lagos and Agbado in Ogun.

The test-run marks an important milestone in the lead-up to the commencement of commercial operations on the Red Line.

As part of initial passenger testing phase, participants will experience firsthand comfort and convenience of the Red Line.





The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) on Wednesday August 28th commenced the controlled test run of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line with passengers from members of the Lagos State transport family.

Joining in the debut passenger test phase include transport officials from Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI), Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Vehicle Inspection Service (VIO), Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY), Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) and the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA).





This event, led by the Honorable Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, marked an important milestone in the lead-up to the commencement of commercial operations on the Red Line.

As part of the initial non-paying passenger testing phase, the test run will allow participants to experience firsthand comfort, convenience and efficiency of the Red Line.

“Their feedback will be invaluable in fine-tuning the system to meet the needs and expectations of Lagos residents,” LAMATA said in a statement.

During the trial tun, the Red Line trains will run four trips per day between Oyingbo in Lagos State and Agbado in neighboring Ogun State.

The commencement of trial run follows a successful 6-week trial run conducted without passengers to ensure the system’s safety, reliability, and efficiency.
