LASEMA Attends 1,675 Incidents In 2024, Truck/Tanker, Road Accidents Ranked Highest - autojosh

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) attends 1,675 incidents between 1st January to 31st December 2024.

Truck/Tanker, Road Accidents and Fire Disaster category ranked highest with 507, 458 and 285 incidents respectively.

Air/Train Crash recorded the least incident in the year with 3 Train Crashes, followed by Marine Category with 6 incidents.





LASEMA attended a total of 8,117 incidents between 1st June 2019 and 31st December 2024 during the Governor Sanwo-Olu led administration.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said it responded to 1,675 incidents between 1st January and 31st December 2024, and a total of 8,117 incidents between 1st June 2019 and 31st December 2024 during the Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu led administration.

In a statement on Tuesday, LASEMA noted that the highest number of incidents were recorded last year in December, February and March when it attended to 167, 156 and 148 incidents respectively, while the lowest number of incidents was recorded in August.

“The lowest number of incidents was recorded in August, Y2024, with 121 cases, followed by July with 123 cases then June and September placing third with 126 cases each.”





Analysis of the 1,675 incidents attended to in 2024 reveals that Truck/Tanker/Trailer category ranked highest with 345 Accidents, 129 Broken Down Trucks and 19 Fallen Trucks/Tankers, 10 Fallen Containers and 4 Stuck Trucks – for a total of 507 incidents.

Road Accidents/Crashes Category was second with 438 Vehicle Accidents, 18 Broken Down Vehicles and 2 others, while Fire Disaster Category placed third with 266 Fire Outbreaks, 7 Tanker/Truck Fires, and 12 Vehicular (Car/BRT) fires.

During the period under review (Y2024), the Air/Train Crash recorded the least incident in the year with 3 Train Crashes, followed by Marine Category which recorded 6 incidents comprising of 3 Floodings and 3 Boat Mishaps as well as 6 Spillages/Leakages.

Data of Emergencies in Local Government reveals that Alimosho LGA ranked highest with 262 incidents, followed by Ikeja (185 incidents) and Eti-Osa LGA (168 cases) while Badagry LGA recorded the lowest with 4 emergency incidents.
