LASG Deploys ‘Checkpoint’ And ‘E-police’ Sites Across The State For Speed Monitoring And Traffic Violations

LASG, in collaboration with Huawei, deploys four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites across four locations in the State.

Newly deployed ITS sites consist of two main categories : Checkpoint Sites for Speed Monitoring and E-police Sites for Traffic Violations.

ITS to complement existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices.





To improve traffic management and road safety, the Lagos State Government, in collaboration with Huawei Technologies, has deployed four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites across four locations in the State.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, who announced this during a press briefing on Thursday, said that ITS integrates advanced technologies for real-time traffic monitoring and management.

He also revealed that the new installations across the State will complement the existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and other Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices.

The Commissioner further revealed that the newly deployed ITS sites consist of two main categories : Checkpoint Sites for Speed Monitoring and the E-police Sites for Traffic Violations.

“The Checkpoint Sites for Speed Detection Located at Alapere, Ogudu Road (80km/h limit) and Nitel, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way (60km/h limit),” aim to reduce speeding, a leading cause of accidents.





“E- Police sites are installed at Allen Avenue Junction and Nurudeen Olowopopo road” are equipped with high definition cameras to monitor violations such as running red lights, lane indiscipline, illegal U-turns and reverse driving.
