Lagos Receives Peugeot 107 Driven By Pelumi Nubi From London To Lagos – To Be Displayed At Museum
The Lagos State Government on Sunday April 28th received the Peugeot 107 Hatchback driven by Pelumi Nubi from London to Lagos at J Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, Onikan Lagos Island.
The car was received by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Oloruntoyin Atekoja on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka.
According to a statement by the Lagos State Government, the Peugeot 107 will be kept in the museum for historical purposes to serve as an iconic tourism asset.
LASTMA Arrest Mercedes Driver Who Crashed Into A Commercial Bus While Using Phone, Injuring 5
LASTMA operatives arrested the driver of a Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV on Sunday April 28th after ramming into a commercial bus along Gbagada area of the Lagos while using phone.
A statement by LASTMA revealed that five people with varying degrees of injuries were rescued during the crash, including a 3-year-old girl, who sustained a head injury, as well as the bus driver, who suffered fractures in various parts of their bodies.
Preliminary investigation by LASTMA revealed that the driver of the Benz SUV (JJJ 219 XU) lost control while on phone, before colliding with a Volkswagen Commercial bus (APP 46 GZ) parked on the roadside for battery repair.
Sanwo-Olu Delivers 178km Roads, 2.6km Bridges
The Lagos State Government says it has completed completed and commissioned 172 roads, translating to 177.93 kilometres as part of efforts towards developing first-class infrastructure to support the State’s growing population.
In addition, the State Government said there are 253 other projects, totalling 298.22 kilometres of roads, 2.510 kilometre of bridge and 3.13 kilometre, that are currently ongoing in different parts of the State.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola made this known on Friday at the Ministerial Press Briefing to commemorate the first year of the second term in office of the administration of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
FCT Police Command Arrest Two For Car Theft, Recovers 5 Stolen Vehicles
The operatives of the FCT police command on April 23, 2024 arrested two notorious robbery kingpins in connection to a series of car thefts from unsuspecting residents in FCT and its environs.
According to the command, the suspects, Ibrahim Haliru, who is an ex-convict, and Babangida Mohammed, have been on the wanted list of the command for the past few months.
The suspects were reportedly trailed and arrested with the aid of digital reconstruction intelligence in a hotel in Nasarawa while lavishing the proceeds of their crimes.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects includes five (5) vehicles and myriads of items reasonably suspected to be charms. Vehicles recovered includes a Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Corolla and two Honda Accord sedans.
