Lagos State Police Command Adds Crime Scene Unit (CSU) Vehicle To Its Car Fleet

Earlier in the week, the Lagos State Police Command added a Crime Scene Unit (CSU) vehicle, also known as a Forensic Investigation Vehicle, to its fleet that will be responding to crime scenes across the city.

The Crime Scene Unit (CSU) vehicle is a self-sufficient mobile evidence collection center. Its rear is equipped with storages that stores equipments and evidence collection tools.

It also has secure storages for collected items, allowing Crime Scene Unit of the Lagos State Command to safely store and secure evidence before it is moved to a lab.

FOB Charge : NCS Acknowledges FG’s Order To Suspend 4% Customs Levy On Imported Goods

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) also acknowledged the receipt of the directive from the Federal Ministry of Finance to suspend the implementation of the 4% Free-on-Board (FOB) charged on imported goods.

In a press release on Tuesday September 16th 2025 by Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, the Service appreciated the Ministry’s engagement on this matter, adding that it remains committed to supporting government fiscal policies.

“Pursuant to this directive, the Service has begun immediate consultation with the supervisory Ministry to seek guidance on alternative measures during this suspension to ensure continuity of Service delivery to all stakeholders.”

LASTMA Deploys Drones For Enhanced Traffic Management, Security Surveillance Across Lagos

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) also announced the deployment of state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), popularly known as as drones, to enhance traffic management, strengthen security surveillance, and reinforce public safety across the Lagos metropolis.

In a statement on Thursday, LASTMA said through aerial reconnaissance and high-definition monitoring capabilities, these drones shall empower LASTMA to be more proactive in traffic management and control across the State.

The Authority reaffirmed its unwavering resolve to continuously innovate in traffic management, reduce travel times, curtail road traffic mishaps, and preserve lives and property throughout Lagos State.

Lagos Police Arrest Leader Of ‘Fake Security Personnel’ That Steals Car Parts Of Exotic Vehicles In Estates

The Police detectives of the Lagos State Police Command also arrested one Jude Onouha ‘m’, aged 46, who is reportedly the gang leader of a notorious criminal syndicate that specializes in stealing car parts from exotic vehicles.

The Command in a statement said that the criminal syndicate wear fake security outfit uniforms and use a Mercedes-Benz car jack modified to look like firearms to deceive unsuspecting estate security personnel in order to gain access into estates within Lagos metropolis.

Once they gain access into residential estates, the gang targeted high-end vehicles such as Toyota Hilux, Toyota Highlander, Lexus 650, Mercedes-Benz, and other SUVs, systematically vandalizing them to remove parts such as brainboxes, side mirrors, and control devices.
