LASTMA Introduces Female Bikers Called “Female Troopers”
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), introduces Female Bikers known as Female Troopers.
Female Troopers will join their male colleagues in motorcycle patrol to help handle traffic, ensure the smooth traffic flow.
LASTMA’s responsibility includes Traffic Safety and Accident Management as well as ensuring hitch-free traffic flow on Lagos roads.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), steered by the General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, has announced the introduction of Female Bikers known as Female Troopers.
The Lagos State Traffic Management’s Female Troopers will join their male colleagues on motorcycle patrol to help handle traffic and to ensure the smooth traffic flow in the city.
“Poised to make a difference in an area that has been known to be dominated by men, the Female Bikers known as Female Troopers have taken it upon themselves to prove that Women can thrive in jobs and responsibilities that have long been tagged as for Men,” LASTMA said in a statement.
“LASTMA under the Leadership of Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki has started, and is instituting a number of changes that have started to put the Agency on the pedestal of positive light which will make it the envy of well meaning citizens and people in the State, Nation and World at large.”

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) was set up in July 2000 to fill the gap created by inadequate traffic management at that time.
Supervised by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, LASTMA was also established to transform the State Transportation System to ensure free flow of traffic in the state and to reduce accidents.
LASTMA’s responsibility includes Public Enlightenment of drivers and motorists on the proper use of the highways, Traffic Safety and Accident Management as well as ensuring hitch-free traffic flow on Lagos roads.
