LASTMA rescues 3 as speeding 40ft Container truck collides with 2 Toyota Camrys, fully-loaded tipper.
Preliminary investigation says that the container truck collided with 3 vehicles as a result of brake failure.
LASTMA cautions motorists to always ensure that there vehicle are in good condition before embarking on any journey.
At least three (3) accident victims were rescued by operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) in a multiple accident at Anthony inward Obanikoro area of Lagos on Saturday (yesterday).
A statement by Adebayo Taofiq
Director, the Public Affairs and Enlightenment department of LASTMA, confirmed that the 3 rescued accident victims were trapped under the 40ft container.
The statement further disclosed that the 3 rescued accident victims were immediately taken to nearby Hospital by members of their families.
According to preliminary investigation, the 40ft container truck while on a top speed collided with 3 other vehicles including a tipper fully loaded with sand as a result of brake failure.
“Lastma Lawal Hammed Babatunde ‘Eagle Bravo’ (Zone 11 Anthony) who led the rescue team confirmed that the multiple accident involved a 40ft container, 2 Toyota Camry cars (KRD 432 JA & APP 43 HN) and a tipper loaded with sand (T 17001LA).
“The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oreagba cautioned motoring public to always ensure that there vehicle are in good condition before embarking on any journey both withing and outside Lagos.
“Police men from Ilupeju Police Command supported LASTMA officials during the rescue operations.”
