Lotus Evija Finally Enters Productions As Delivery To Begin In 2 Weeks

Lotus has officially announced the start of the Evija production. This is the most powerful production car in the world right now, boasting 2,011 hp and 1,703 Nm instant torque. A series of delays pushed the production date, but it has finally come.
Lotus spokesperson said that the factory in Hethel, England is already assembling the Evija and the first customers will get their Evijas in the following weeks. We don’t know how many of the planned 130 units have been sold, though.
Last October, the company revealed that all planned vehicles for this year are already sold and estimations are based on reservations. Lotus also noted that there are many interested buyers, but they haven’t placed their deposits yet.
“We have sold out the first year [of production] based on the deposits that we’ve taken,” Lotus said. “But we’ve got a huge amount of seriously interested parties, we just haven’t got to the point of taking the deposits because all we’ve done is prioritize the first year of production. Of course, in common with every other OEM, production of cars in the last two or three years has been a challenge simply because of Covid and supply chain issues.”
