Maserati Launches 3 One-Off GrandTurismo Models At The Milan Design Week

Maserati attended Milan Design Week in style, revealing three one-off GranTurismo creations. Two are real cars, while the third is a digital creation that plays with the GT’s new design by giving it some retro flair. The three exclusive models are officially known as the GranTurismo One Off Prisma, GranTurismo One Off Luce, and GranTurismo One Off Ouroboros.

Starting with the most interesting of the bunch, the Maserati GranTurismo Ouroboros looks like a coach-built special thanks to the unique styling treatment of several bespoke parts. The digital model was created by Hiroshi Fujiwara from Japan, who is a “street culture innovator” and a big Maserati fan. The Ouroboros is based on the fully electric GranTurismo Folgore but looks much different, borrowing elements from a “curated selection” of Maseratis from the past.

The Prisma is the only one of the three not based on the electric GranTurismo Folgore, and comes with the Nettuno V6 instead. Its hand-painted body is finished in 14 different colors, and if that’s not intricate enough, there are over 8,500 hand-painted and hand-varnished letters that form the names of older models, including Maserati classics like the Mistral. 12 of the 14 colors recall models from the past such as the Amaranto hue found on the 1947 Maserati A6 1.500.

Moving on to the next one-off special, the Maserati GranTurismo Luce is like a mirror on wheels. The company describes it as a “chromatic mirrored monolith” which is pretty accurate due to the highly reflective finish of the bodywork. The latter is engraved with a laser-etched pattern of dots, giving it an interesting texture. The interior features a similar treatment on the sustainable Econyl upholstery which transitions from blue to creme white like the waves of the sea. As given away by the tri-spoke alloy wheels and the Folgore badges, the Luce has a zero-emission powertrain, with a trio of electric motors producing a combined 751 hp, and a 92.5 kWh battery pack.
