Mercedes-Benz GL 450 4MATIC Crossover SUV burst into flames in Lagos on Wednesday.
According to LASTMA report, good samaritans helped put out the fire from the burning SUV.
The incident reportedly affected the flow of traffic along the axis.
A Mercedes-Benz GL 450 4MATIC SUV on Wednesday, January 19th, bursts into flames while driving along Adeniji inward Obalende area of Lagos metropolis.
According to Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) report, good samaritans helped put out the fire from the burning SUV. The incident reportedly affected the flow of traffic along the axis.
Footage taken site and shared by LASTMA showed a charred bonnet, which implies the fire might have originated from the engine area.
The cause of the fire was not stated in the video, but the engine fire suggests a fuel leak probably due to a faulty fuel line connection or damaged fuel line/hose.

“A 4matic Jeep on motion bursted into flames at Adeniji inward Obalende. The fire was put out by good Samaritans.
The development has adversely affected the flow of traffic along the axis. However, effort has commenced to rid the impendiment.”
The Mercedes-Benz GL-CLASS (including GL 350, GL 420 and GL 450) is a full-size crossover luxury SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz, from 2006 to 2012.
Unlike most three-row luxury SUVs at the time, the GL-Class is based on an elongated and widened version of the M-Class platform, instead of the body-on-frame construction.
