Mercedes-Benz Group Announces Solid 2023 Financial Results
Mercedes Group achieved solid 2023 results with Earnings Before Interest and Taxes reaching €19.7b while revenues reached €153.2b.
Last year, overall sales volumes of Mercedes Cars reached 2,044,100 units, with the brand’s top-end vehicle sales reaching 328,300 units.
Sales of Mercedes-Maybach increased by +19 percent, G-Class by +11 percent and the high-performance Mercedes-AMG by +4 percent.
Between January and December of 2023, sales of Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans increased by 1.5 percent to 2,491,800 vehicles.
In 2023, Mercedes gain certification for its SAE Level 3 conditionally automated driving system for use on freeways in Nevada and California.
Mercedes-Benz Group AG on Friday said it achieved a solid 2023 financial results with Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) reaching €19.7 billion (2022 : €20.5 billion) while revenues increased by 2% to €153.2 billion (2022: €150.0 billion).
For 2023, Mercedes-Benz Cars delivered an adjusted Return on Sales (RoS) of 12.6 percent, Mercedes-Benz Vans an adjusted RoS of 15.1 percent, and Mercedes-Benz Mobility an adjusted Return on Equity (RoE) of 12.3%.
“Mercedes-Benz continued its transformation in 2023, developing new cutting-edge electric and digital innovations, while scaling electric vehicles and delivering solid financial results,” said Ola Kaellenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
“In other words, the team once again came through to execute our strategy in challenging times, delivering the eSprinter and the new E-Class”.
Last year, overall sales volumes of Mercedes-Benz Cars reached 2,044,100 units with the brand’s top-end vehicle sales reaching 328,300, thanks to sales of Mercedes-Maybach (+19%), G-Class (+11%) and the high-performance Mercedes-AMG (+4%).
Between January and December of 2023, sales of Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans (8 percent, 447,800 units) increased by 1.5% to 2,491,800 vehicles, BEV sales rose by +61% to 240,700 units (2022 : 149,200), eVans sales by +51% to 22,700 units (2022 : 15,000)
Year 2023 also saw Mercedes-Benz gain certification for its SAE Level 3 conditionally automated driving system for use on freeways in Nevada and California. In addition, Mercedes also received permission to test its L3 systems on highways in China’s capital city, Beijing.
