Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Staging A Comeback??
In addition to the AMG GT Coupe and CLE Coupe, the range will also include the S-Class Coupe. At least that’s what patents from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) suggest.
The pictures show luxury two-door models, one with AMG and the other with Maybach badges. Images discovered by Car and Driver on the EUIPO website show that the double M logo model has a split rear window.
Motor1 reports that the patents filed on January 8, 2025, do not come directly from Mercedes-Benz. Instead, Swiss company Robu Aktiengesellschaft registered two designs for the S-Class Coupe with the EUIPO. Almost four years ago, the same firm protected the design of what later became the Bussink GT R SpeedLegend. It was a radical AMG GTR that HWA turned into a speedster.
However, such a car could also make sense as part of the newly established Mythos series of ultra-expensive limited-edition Mercedes models. In any case, an S-Class Coupe is being planned, either by Mercedes or some other party.
It would be a real farewell for the V12 (in the Mercedes-Maybach S680 sedan, the 6.0-litre V12 twin-turbo engine has 450 kW/612 hp and 900 Nm), because its days are numbered, given the increasingly stricter emissions regulations.
