Multimillionaire Carries His $2m McLaren Into His $26m Penthouse On 57th Floor
Australian Multimillionaire use crane to lift his $2m McLaren Senna into his $26 million penthouse apartment on the 57th floor.
Portelli’s track-only McLaren Senna GTR now has a permanent home in his living room as it cannot been driven on street.
As expected, the display attracted a big crowd of onlookers, who watched as the car rise into the air into the $26m penthouse.
Australian Business tycoon, Adrian Portelli, made headlines this week after hoisting his ultra-rare $2 million McLaren Senna GTR racing car into his AU$39 million (US$26.3 million) penthouse apartment on the 57th floor.
Portelli’s track-only McLaren Senna GTR, which holds the record for the most expensive used car in Australia, now has a permanent home in his living room as it cannot been driven on street.
Sharing pictures of how crews pulled off his McLaren from the street into his room, Portelli said :
“When I went to bed last night I just giggled. Young Portelli would be proud. The one nobody knew 10 years ago.
“If I can motivate and inspire people to want to succeed, my job is done because I understand how hard and lonely it is on the pursuit of success.”
According to 9 News, a crane was enlisted to carry Portelli’s McLaren Senna GTR up to the 57th Floor, which at US$26+ million, is the most expensive penthouse in Melbourne.
“It was part of the package,” Portelli told 9 News. “I’m like, if I buy the penthouse, I want to get a car up there, and they’re like, ‘alright, leave it to us,’ and they got it done.”
“It’s just a race car, so you can’t register on the street,” Portelli said, adding that “It was just sitting in a factory anyway, so I might as well, you know, give it the title it deserves.”
As expected, the display attracted a big crowd of onlookers, who, along with the Portelli, watched the car rise into the air from street level into the most expensive property in Australia.
The 34 year old Australian tycoon said “the car is going to sit in the lounge room, it will be the centrepiece,” noting that his McLaren “might have found its forever home.”
Limited to just 75 examples, the track-only McLaren Senna GTR is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which produces a mighty 813 horsepower and generates 2,200 pounds of downforce.
